CFDA "Joan and Zac"

CFDA "Joan and Zac" from Nola Pictures on Vimeo.

This I found from the Communication Arts Design Annual 2007 that I found to be very cool for several reasons. The first is it reminds me one of my favorite videos I watched called Voices because of the way they integrate an actual interview into an integrated story full of different metamorphosis. Also, because it has so many different line styles and usage of gray scale and does resemble very deeply a fashion sketch. As you can see, Joan's face isn't even all the way outlined like in Voices but you still get a sense that it's her. So shocking this was hardly done with any color but in her remembering about the 60's! I hope there are more videos like this in the near future (or I could make a video like it).

The ABCs in Motion Graphics

I found this on a really cool motion graphics website called motionspire.com. It has a lot of very cool motion graphics and I'm going to be going here often! This motion graphic that I found is called The Alphabet 2, and it's an experiment (and a cool way of showing the alphabet). It does a good job of taking word(s - depending on the letter) and tying everything together. Such as A for anamorphosis, where you see from top perspective it's a simple triangle to end up eventually seeing it straight on and it forms the letter; then B for biscuit, which a strange purple arm comes in and begins to break it a part, eventually all of it being gone. I think you get the idea. From beginning to end, it kept me entertained and never let down! I wish I could've learned the alphabet in a similar fashion.

This is a Vimeo video, so I have to post it as a link. Click here to view the video.
